Inlays and Onlays

Inlays and Onlays are used to restore teeth damaged by decay or cavities. Inlays and Onlays provide added strength and support to the damaged teeth. At Essex Dental Professionals, Dr. Finkelstein uses Inlays and Onlays to restore a decayed tooth to its original condition and to strengthen it. The procedure helps the tooth bear up to 50-70% more chewing force. Inlay is required if the replaced tooth structure is within the cusps tips of tooth. Onlay is done when the damage is extensive and covers the entire chewing surface with more than one tooth cusps.
